Why Sunscreen Stings Your Eyes in the Water (and How to Stop It)
You paddle out, ten minutes later your eyes are on fire, and you’re blaming the salt. It’s probably your sunscreen.
Sweat and water make lotion move. Sunscreen on your forehead slides down with every paddle and duck dive, straight into your eyes. Headhunter is designed to stay put in all conditions.
How to stop it:
- Use a stick around your eyes. It goes on thick, stays put, and doesn’t drip. That’s what the Headhunter Facestick is built for.
- Apply early, on dry skin. Give it time to settle before you hit the water. Check the Drug Facts panel for the timing on your product.
- Keep lotion off your hairline and brow. Those are the drip points. Use a stick there and save lotion for arms, legs and back.
- Rinse, don’t rub. If you get stung, use fresh water. If irritation doesn’t clear, see a doctor.
- Reapply on schedule. “Water resistant” means a set number of minutes, not all day. One swipe between sessions and you’re good.
Headhunter is reef-safe and built for the lineup, so sunscreen never costs you the best part of the session.
